What is the life blood of your business?

You have heard the saying that the life blood of a website is getting
traffic to it
. Which is true, without traffic you have a website that is
just sitting out in cyberspace with no one seeing it.

Traffic is important but what, about sales?

Without sales bringing in profit your business is sure to die a slow
death. Even non-profit organization need to make some kind of a
sale to cover cost of operation unless they are supported through
donations, grants, and even government funding. What are the chances
of getting any of those to fund your business website.

Below I have listed 10 great ways to bring in the traffic to your
website and jump start your sales.

1. Find a strategic business partner. Look for ones that
have the same objective. You can cross promote to each
others list, share marketing info, sell package deals, post
to each others blog, etc.

2. Brand your name and business. You can easily do this
by just writing articles and submitting them to e-zines or
web sites for republishing.

3. Start an auction on your web site. The type of auction
could be related to the theme of your site. You’ll draw
traffic from auctioneers and bidders.

4. Brainstorming. Remember to take a little time out of your day or week
to brainstorm. Coming up with new ideas can make a
difference between success and failure.

5. Watching. You can model your business after another successful
business or person. I’m not saying out right copy them,
but practice some of the same habits with your own twist
that have allowed them to succeed.

6. Take some risks to improve your business. Sometimes
businesses don’t want to advertise unless it’s free, folks
sometimes you have to spend money to get results.

7. Include emotional words in your advertisements. Use
ones like love, security, relief, freedom, happy, satisfaction,
fun, etc.

8. Website Review. You can ask people online to review your web site. Then
use the comments you get to improve your web site or you
may possibly turn the reviewer into a customer.

9. Out source part of your workload. Outsourcing can allow
yourself more time for more important tasks like marketing
your product or service. You could out source your graphic
work, article writing, even product creation, etc.

10. Your Offer. Combine a product and service together in a package
deal. It could increase your sales. If you’re selling a ebook,
offer an hour of consulting with it.

Try as many of these ten ways or even just one to get the traffic and
hopefully many sales coming in. After all, what can it hurt.
